It’s no secret that we are absolutely in love with Influencers, I mean; we devoted our lives to them – to research and evolve what they do and how they do it. But why are we so invested in these individuals, you may ask? Well we’re about to tell you – and maybe even get you to share our passion towards them. But first, like most of our blog posts, let’s break down what Influencers are.
What are Influencers?
Influencers don’t really differ much from you and I, they are regular people when it comes down to it, most of them are not on TV or Radio – but rather on Social Media. They are the celebrities of the Internet. They are creative individuals who simply love what they do and share what they do with the world. This type of behavior and strategy allows them to use something as mundane as Instagram or Facebook and turn it into a Fame-Machine. Their unique fashion style, lifestyle or talent helps them build a niche following and fan-base. To put it simply, they are people who share their life experience on Social Media, which in turn attracts other like-minded individuals and builds them a following.
With time, you might have noticed that Influencers are becoming ever more popular and it seems that everyone is talking about them. Why is that?
Well, this is where Influencers differ from other Celebrities; they use their Social Alpha Persona to monetize their fame, by pairing up with Brands. But, they not only cooperate with Brands, they represent them; they become the face of the Brand. This Marketing Strategy is extremely effective in today’s time and age, because it merges Direct Marketing (word of mouth) with Brand Personification (giving the brand a human personality and face). A good example for this would be DJ Khaled (who would have taught), he earned the title “King of Snapchat” by gaining millions of followers and having an average view count of 3 million views per post. With his strong presence on Snapchat, he launched a campaign with Stride for their new product “Mad Intense Gum”, where they tuck over Snapchat.

What can Influencers do for Your Business?
Before we go into what Influencers can do for your Brand, let’s see what the above mentioned “Mad Intense Gum” campaign achieved. Well, if we look at their Social Media profiles, we can see that it was quite successful. On Facebook they have 2,5 million followers and on Twitter they have 40k followers – so I guess we can say that the campaign was ‘Mad Intense’.
Needless to say, Stride made an astounding Influencer Marketing Campaign and they are a prime example of what Influencer Campaigns can achieve, IF you pick the right Influencer for your Brand. Stride wanted to go with bold and loud and Khaled was their perfect pick.
With enough research, preparation and investment, your Brand can also have a very successful Influencer Campaign – bringing you numerous new followers, fans, and great revenue (The average revenue for Influencer Marketing is $6,5 for every $1 spent).
